How to Make a Photo Sing With AI, Birthday Songs Included
RapVideo TeamTo make a photo sing, upload a clear face photo, choose a song style and generate a 15-second vertical clip. Steps, costs and photo tips inside.
Short answer: To make a photo sing, upload one clear face photo to a song tool, pick the kind of song you want, and let the AI render a short clip where the person sings. On RapVideo a sung song is 15 seconds, vertical, and costs 7 credits at 480p or 12 credits at 720p. Start with the personalized birthday song page.
How does a singing photo work?
The tool takes your still picture and renders a brand-new video from it. The face moves, the mouth shapes words, and music plays with it. The model, Grok Imagine Video from xAI via fal.ai, renders picture and sound together, so the lips and the voice are made in one pass.
This is not a face swap. Nothing is pasted onto another body. The clip is generated fresh from your photo.
How do I make a photo sing a birthday song?
- Open Personalized Birthday Song.
- Upload one clear photo of the birthday person. Their face should be well lit and facing the camera.
- Add the details the page asks for, such as a name or a short message.
- Choose Standard (480p) or HD (720p). The button shows the exact credits first.
- Generate. It usually takes about 2 to 5 minutes. You can leave the page; the video waits in My videos.
- Download the MP4, which has no watermark, and send it on WhatsApp, text, or post it.
It works in a browser on iPhone, Android or a computer. There is no app to install and no account needed.
What kinds of songs can a photo sing?
| Occasion | Page to use | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Birthday | Personalized birthday song | 15 seconds |
| Anniversary | Personalized anniversary song | 15 seconds |
| Love | Personalized love song | 15 seconds |
| Christmas | Personalized Christmas song | 15 seconds |
Each one is a short, shareable sung clip rather than a full-length track. That makes it perfect for a greeting, a surprise in a group chat, or a story post.
Can I make a photo rap instead of sing?
Yes. The AI rap generator turns two photos, or one photo of two people, into a 12-second rap video. There are three sounds: an AI verse from a topic up to 120 characters, your own lyrics up to 300 characters, or a beat only. A rap video costs 6 credits at 480p or 10 credits at 720p.
Can a photo sing my own recorded song?
Not on RapVideo. We do not support uploading an audio file or your own recorded track, so a photo cannot lip-sync to a file you bring. What you can do is use your own words: in the rap tools you can paste up to 300 characters of lyrics and the lead performs them. If you need a full-length video for a finished song, see our guide to making an AI music video for your song.
What photos make the best singing faces?
- Front-facing. A straight-on or slightly angled face gives the cleanest mouth movement.
- Open expression. A neutral or smiling face works better than a face half covered by a hand or a mask.
- Good light. Even light across the face, without hard shadows.
- No heavy filters. Beauty filters can warp the result.
- One face. For a song, a single clear face is the most reliable.
Is it safe and who owns the photo?
Upload only people who agreed to it, ask a parent or guardian for anyone under 18, and never upload celebrities or public figures. Uploads pass an automated safety check, and sexual, hateful or harassing requests are refused before any credits move. Your photos are used only to make the video and are never shown publicly.
How much will it cost?
Credits are bought in one-time packs that never expire. The Single pack is 10 credits for $9.99, which covers one HD sung song with credits to spare. The Duo Pack is 50 credits for $29. See everything on the pricing page. If a render fails, times out or is blocked for safety, credits come back automatically. A finished video is not refunded, but unused purchases can be refunded within 14 days.
